Lavern was a native of Vinton and attended St Joseph Catholic Church. She was very active in her church. She loved quilting and crocheting.
Survivors include her daughters, Shelia Mobley of Westlake, Karen Dalfrey of Sulphur and Pamela Lilyquist and her husband Daniel of Orange, TX; son, Elie J. Courville and his wife Marilyn of Vinton; sisters, Beatrice Langston, twin, Lavon Matthews, Bobby Sue Faggert, and Patsy Cantu; brothers, William Hartzog, Robert Ray Hartzog, and James Hartzog; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Elie Courville; son, Evans Courville; parents, George and Agnes Hartzog; and sister, Betty Long.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 4, in St Joseph Catholic Church of Vinton. The Rev. Susil Fernando will officiate. Burial will be in Nibletts Bluff Cemetery in Vinton under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Visitation will be fro 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
