Lottie Andora Caswell went to meet her Lord and Savior on September 29, 2026 at the age of 87. Lottie was a lifelong resident of Vinton, born in Big Woods on December 7, 1938 to Alice and Luther Berry.
Throughout her life, Lottie was a beloved presence—steady, loving, and quietly generous in the ways that mattered most. Her kindness was not something she announced, but something she lived, offering care and warmth to family, friends, and neighbors with a gentle, open heart. She led a simple life, and in that simplicity she built a legacy of love that will continue through the generations who called her Mom and Mawmaw.
Lottie dedicated her working years as a lunch lady for the Calcasieu Parish School Board, serving others day after day with the same thoughtful spirit that shaped every part of her life. Her giving nature showed in the small, faithful acts that often go unseen, yet leave a lasting mark. Lottie will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In her quieter moments, Lottie found joy in the things she loved most— tending to her flowers and gardening, cooking, playing piano, and reading her Bible. These were the comforts and rhythms of her days, reflecting a life rooted in devotion, care, and the steady love she shared so freely. Mostly she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Alice and Luther; her loving husband of 49 years, Wilton Caswell Jr.; granddaughter, Clarissa Caswell; great-grandson, Cadon Vines; son in law, Thomas Wolford; sisters: Marie Wagner and husband "Top", Rosalie Vige and husband Herman, Mildred Treme and husband "Slim", and Loyce Guillory.
Those left to cherish her loving memory are her children: Terry Caswell and wife Becky, Randy Caswell and wife Rita, and Wanda Wolford; grandchildren: Jason Havens (Monica), Taylor Cornsilk (Robert), Candace Miller, Colby Caswell (Lyndsi), Cherish Ingalls (Nathan), Chloe Price (Tyler), Crysta Caswell, Greg Fontenot, Ashley Vines, and Toshann Wolford; 22 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne Berry and wife Linda; brothers-in-law: Riley Guillory and Edward Caswell; sisters-in-law: Nancy Duraso Jenny Landry; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, October 2, 2026 at Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Pastor Nathan Ingalls will officiate. Lottie will be laid to rest at Big Woods Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 am until the time of service. Those honored to serve as Pallbearers will be Randy Caswell, Terry Caswell, Wayne Berry, Colby Caswell, Greg Fontenot, Robert Cornsilk, Jason Havens, and Brian LeDoux.
The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Lottie’s name to Magnolia Baptist Church.
