Marion was a native of Goodman, Mo., and had lived in the Vinton area over 50 years, where he attended Grace Assembly of Vinton. He was a member of both the VFW and the American legion, and served in the honorguard for 21 years. He was a Hunter Education Instructor for 21years. He retired from Dupont Chemical after 42 years.
Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years Dorothy B. Newman; and sister Helen Stapp of Corpus Christi.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, January 3, in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Burial will be in the Toomey Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Sunday and from 8-10 a.m. Monday, all in the funeral home.
