

She was a native of Urania and had been a resident of Vinton since her early childhood years. She was a 1958 graduate of Vinton High School. Melvina was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church, The Order of the Eastern Star, and the Rainbow Girls of Vinton. She served as a Calcasieu Parish 4-H leader for many years.
Survivors include her mother, Lois McAnally of Vinton; her daughter, Sheila Cowan and husband, James of Jasper, Texas; three grandchildren, Stephanie Fletcher and fiance' Andrew Thrasher of Tyler, Texas, Cade Corbello and wife, Devin of Magnolia Springs, Texas, and Jamie Cowan of Austin, Texas; her great-grandson, Tucker Corbello; her siblings, Donis Fitzpatrick and husband, Russell of Orange, Texas, JR McAnally and wife, Susan of Monroe, David McAnally of Vinton, and Jerry McAnally of Orange, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Kirby Corbello; her father, Lloyd McAnally; and her sister, Bethel McAnally Clement.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, in Big Woods Cemetery. The Rev. Rob Tibbitts will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
