Hey! she would say, greeting you with a smile on her face and love in her eyes.

Morgan Taylor Welch was born November 25, 1999 in Port Arthur, TX to John and Jenny Welch. She grew up and graduated with honors from Vinton High School.

She went on to further her education, enrolling in McNeese State University, majoring in Political Science. Her friendly nature and witty personality ensured she never met a stranger, bringing laughter to anyone around her. Majoring in Political Science, her smart wit kept her ready for any discussion or debate coming her way.

Growing up, she spent a lot of time with her family, she had an affinity for animals. She would spend time much of her free time with her cats that she called her babies and her boyfriend Thomas.

She was called home on August 23, 2020, although her time here on Earth was shorter than wanted, having lived her life to the fullest, one full of love, laughter and joy.

Those left to cherish her memory are her parents; a brother; Colin Welch; Grandparents; Carroll and Mary Ann Trahan, Aubrey and Susan Welch, her aunts; Belinda (Jessie) Simon, Carla (Gary) Hunsberger, and Tracey Smith, numerous cousins and extended family.

The family will have a private viewing and cremation has been entrusted to Hixson Funeral Home.

I will always remember hearing the kid’s soft giggles floating in the night air as they played and sang from her trampoline. She was always so happy and had a sweet magnetic personality. She will leave a great void in many peoples life. We love y’all and are praying for y’all.

I always enjoyed seeing Morgan at church with Jenny. She was such a cute, sweet little blondie. I could see the pride and love Jenny always had in Morgan, and that’s what breaks my heart for her & John. My love & prayers for all of the family.
