A lifelong resident of Vinton, Nora lived a life of service and love. She began her career as a bus driver and later became a Paramedic, serving many years with West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital. She also taught paramedic courses and proudly helped establish Vinton’s first emergency response team. She was a member of the EMS Paramedic Association and she enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family. When she wasn't working as a Paramedic, her door was always open as she was feeding the ones that were working. Nora never met a stranger and was known for her warm heart and favorite saying: “I love you more than you love me.” Her family and friends will always remember her by those words.
Survivors include her children, Ancel Ross Prince and wife, Tammy of Vinton, and Laura Pryor and husband, Mark of Sulphur; twelve grandchildren, Tamara Breaux (Greg), Wendy Murphy (James), Angelica Trahan (Ben), Crystal Moore, Joe Prince, Anabelle Benoit (Cole), Blaine Prince (Star), Dayton Prince, D'Aaron Prince, Hilary Caldarera (Blake), Sarah Romar (Brennan), and Matthew Pryor; and twenty-seven great-grandchildren with one on the way. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ancel O. Miller and Rena Quebodeaux Miller; her brother, Ancel James Miller; and the father of her children, William Ross Prince, Jr.
Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 29, in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. The Rev. Gerard Little will officiate. Burial will be in A.O. Miller Cemetery in Vinton. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday in the funeral home.
