Richard Herbert Perry, 77, of Ged passed away Monday, April 29, 2019. He was a lifelong resident of Ged/Vinton and was a 1959 Vinton High School graduate. Richard was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for 77 years and was a United States Army Veteran. He loved riding horses, fishing and gardening; he was known for his tomato crops.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Richmond Perry and wife Debby of Oklahoma, and Tanya Ridgway and husband Harold of Indiana; granddaughter, Victoria Ridgway; sister-in-law, Linda Perry; life-long friend, Jack Schanz; numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, Gizmo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Perry; parents, George and Edith Perry; brother, Jerry Perry; and his beloved dogs, Charlie and Sweet Pea.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 4, 2019 in St. Joseph Catholic Church of Vinton. Burial will follow at Big Woods Cemetery.
