Roger Dale Garrie

He was a lifelong resident of Vinton and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Roger was also a member of Masonic Lodge #364 and Local 87. He enjoyed carpentry and being outdoors.

Survivors include his wife, Harriet Garrie; son, John Curtis Garrie; step-son, Walter Lee Berry and wife, Tricia; step-daughter, Vickie Lynn Wright and husband, Steven, all of Vinton; seven step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Lucy Garrie; his wife, Marilyn LeBlanc Garrie; and his brother, Michael Edward Garrie.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 18, in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Susil Fernando will officiate. Pallbearers will be Philip Hebert, Dennis Hankins, Trent Wright, Steve Wright, Garet Berry, Walter Berry, and J.C. Laughlin. Burial will be in Lee Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. Sunday with a rosary service at 7 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.
