

Ruth Sylvia Walter, 95, of Vinton, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. She was born to her late parents, Sylvin and Grace Sensat on February 8, 1931 in Ged, Louisiana. Ruth enjoyed cooking and traveling to various parts of the country. Her and her husband went to every state in the United States except for three. She loved going on cruises and truly loved nature and the outdoors.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth James Moore (Becky) of Vinton; three daughters, Mona Moore of Vinton, Patricia Kirkland of Orange, Texas, and Donna Nichols (Robert) of Leesville, Louisiana; stepsons, Ronnie Walter, Wayne Walter, Arthur Walter, and Ted Walter; five grandchildren, Tom Bryant, Heath Bryant, Jeremy Buesing, Derrick Moore, and Jessica Kitt; fourteen great grandchildren; seventeen great-great grandchildren; along with her special friends and Kenneth and Carol Richard of Vinton.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Walter; stepson, Dale Walter; brother, Sylvan Edward Sensat; along with her sisters, Margaret Parrish and Dorothy Roe.
A Graveside Celebration of Ruth's life will be held at Niblett's Bluff Cemetery in Vinton, Louisiana on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 10:30 am, with Bro. Rob Tibbitts officiating.
