Abraham B. Baltazar

Abraham Blanco Baltazar, 88, was born on December 12, 1925 in Sanchez Mira, Cagayan, Philippines. He passed away peacefully at 6:55 pm on December 15, 2013 after a well fought battle after complications due to a stroke. He was an extremely proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and a retired civil servant for NOAA. He was a fighter and very strong-willed. “Papa” will be remembered mostly by his giving heart; his genuineness; and his unconditional love for his wife, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed golfing, dancing and eating. He is preceded in death by his father, Francisco Arafiles Baltazar; his mother, Gregoria Blanco Baltazar; and 2 brothers, Leoncio Blanco Baltazar and Ernesto Blanco Baltazar.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Josefina Dadufalza Baltazar; his 3 sons, Abraham Jr., Jose and Robert; his daughter-in-laws Marinel and Shirley; his 5 grandchildren, Rozelle, Jennel, Karess, Ryan and Emily; and sister, Francisca Udaundo. He will be tremendously missed and forever in our hearts. We love you so much Papa.

His viewing will be held at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, 818 Norview Ave., Norfolk, VA 23509 on Friday December 20, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday December 21, 2013 at 1:30 pm. A burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery on Granby Street.
