Mrs. Pye is preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Pye and survived by her 5 children, Bruce Pye (Kathy) of NJ, David Pye of VA, Brenda Keys (Kevin) of VA, Robert Pye (Pam) of VA and Melinda Callahan of VA. Alice is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Pye was most importantly a loving mother to her 5 children and a bookkeeper with the A&P Retail store chain for 20 years before retiring to Virginia for over 30 years ago. Family is everything to her and she made anyone that walked through the door of her home feel as though they were family as well. She touched the hearts of all those who crossed her path and will never be forgotten. Her soft blue eyes and easy temperament warmed your heart. Her quiet nature and quick wit left you with a smile.
The family will begin receiving friends at 12pm on Saturday, September 24 at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel with a Celebration of Life beginning at 2pm. Burial to follow at Colonial Grove Memorial Park.
