Mrs. Ortiz was born in the Philippines and came to the United States in 1985. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcelo and Edwarda Dinglasan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roman Ortiz.
She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from University of Santo Tomas and retired as a teacher in the Philippine Public School System. She was a member of St. Pius, X Catholic Church and attended St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church with family.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Alexis Cornista, Cesar Tesoro, Luther Tesoro, Fe Tesoro, Corazon Caringal, Michael and Greta Tesoro and Violeta Abalos, many grandchildren and great grandchildren and extended family in the Philippines.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 3, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church on Friday, February 4, 1:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
