I am so, so terribly sad to learn of Mr. Devor's passing. My heart goes out to Mrs. Devor, Cathy and Debbie. Mr. Devor was a man I have respected and admired my entire life.

He was a great and honorable man who loved his family above all else. I have so many wonderful memories of Mr. Devor, most are of his humor.

I remember Buford when I first joined NPD in 1973. He along with Sgt. Vaughan, W.I. Moore, Paul Elmore, C.J. Smyth, Earl Hannah were my first Platoon Sgt's. But Buford, I thought he was so cool, sharp, calm and collected. God bless him and everyone in his family. D.I.(Bucky) Hampton

Worked for Sgt Buford Devor, got to know him as a police officer, family man and a friend. During my time working with him, met his family and learned a lot about police work and life in general. The world has lost a great man. Rick Bowling

My condolences to the family and loved ones of Sergeant Devor.. He truly was a wonderful person and an asset to NPD. One of the most laid back, kind persons I ever worked with. Was always a pleasure running into him at Bon Secour Depaul after we retired from NPD. RIP, Sarge. I'm sure you are in a better place.

Sarg That is what I called him many times. Buford was my first sergeant on the NPD. What a great man he was, he was kind considerate and above all a great mentor. He seemed to always be calm even in the most tense situations. It was a great start for me being a rookie police officer to have such a man to help shape my time on the PD. He will be truly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. To the Devor family my sincere condolences at this time of loss. Gods speed Buford.

May God Bless the Buford family during the lost of your lone one. He was a great man who was love by all. I had the pleasure to serve under Sergeant Buford in my first assignment to the Detective Division. He truly was a great leader of men and a caring person. I will pray that his spirit and mannerism live on forever. He will be missed by all, "MAY GOD BLESS"
