Daniel and Kara Turnipseed

We are sad to announce the passing of Daniel Claytor and Kara Vanessa (Cruz) Turnipseed on December 5, 2022. Even though a tragic accident took them both from this world, they left behind a light for all in our community.

Daniel (born June 4, 1980) and Kara (born January 5, 1982) were childhood sweethearts, who built a beautiful life together. Proud owners of Neptune Welding, their time was most enjoyed spent with their children and on the water. They leave behind two sons, Nathan Ryan Turnipseed and Joseph Andrew Turnipseed.

Left to cherish their memory are their sons, parents, John and Sherri Turnipseed, David Cruz and James Fultz; their siblings, Andrew and Kim Turnipseed, Alexandra Cruz and John “Chico” Williams; their nephews and nieces, Jayden Liles, Jaxon Turnipseed, Ellie and Caden Rousseau, Gabriella, JohnPaul, and many family and friends.

They were preceded in death by Kara’s mother, Barbara Devins Fultz; and their grandparents, Alganeal “Red” Griffin, Delores Zuni Griffin, Bernice Story, Frank Turnipseed, Anthony and Ernestine Cruz, and Frank and Germaine Devins.

A Service will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Coastal Virginia (CoVA) Church, 301 S. Newtown Road, Norfolk, VA 23502. The family ask that any flower donations be sent to Smith & Williams Funeral Home, located at 4889 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
