Mr. Harrison was born in Junction City, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Harrison. He retired from the U.S. Navy after twenty years of service as a Chief Petty Officer and a Viet Nam Veteran who served aboard the U.S.S. Repose as a Corpman. After retiring from the U.S. Navy Mr. Harrison served as personnel manager for Allied Towing. He was a Past Master of the Kempsville Masonic Lodge, Khedive Shriner Band and was a member of the Little Creek Chapel.
Survivors include his mother Marie Scott Harrison, his loving wife of fifty-two years, Carolyn Bianchi Harrison, three children Richard Michael Harrison and wife Patricia Ann, Jennifer Lorene Harrison and Darren Ray Harrison.

Mr. Harrison was a kind and gentle spirit whom will be missed by all that knew him.
