Emma Dopfer Fleming

Emma was born on April 5, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in Newport News, VA. Emma and Bill relocated to Virginia Beach, VA from Richmond, VA in 1971. They built their home and raised their family in Larkspur. She had many wonderful memories and loving neighbors. She loved her family, friends, pets, and their home.

She was a charter member of Church of the Ascension and the Church Social Ministry. She was a former volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a former member of The King's Daughters.

Survivors include her granddaughter Kristy Lewis and Brad, great-granddaughter Aria, daughter in law Carol, grandson William W. Fleming, IV, sister in law Brenda, and many loving friends and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents Adolph and Mary Dopfer, her husband William W. Fleming, Jr., and two sons David E. Fleming and William W. Fleming, III, and her beloved cat Colby.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Ascension Catholic Church. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Princess Anne Memorial Park.
