

Mrs. Twiford was born in Onancock, VA on September 19, 1914. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doc Taylor Twiford of whom she was married to for forty-six years. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Mrs. Twiford and her husband were the former owners of the Doc Twiford Seafood Restaurant on Monticello Avenue in Norfolk. She was devoted to her faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Anne Winslow of Jamestown, NC; Mary Carol Scalzi of Virginia Beach, VA; and a son, Doc T. Twiford, Jr. and wife, Dorie of Concord, NC; six grandchildren, Cynthia Faircloth and husband, Michael; Donna Carol Cannon and husband, Rick; Kelly Lynn Gasko and husband, Kristofer; Holly Twiford; Ronald L. Winslow and wife, Tammy; and Taylor Winslow. She had four great grandchildren, Joshua and Alex Winslow, Noah Cannon and Maximus Gasko and one great grandson, Raleigh Winslow.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, 4889 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, 1:00 p.m. by Elder Welton Thomas at the funeral home.
