Evelyn White

Evelyn ‘Tish” White age 66, went to our Lord on March 1, 2014. Born on November 1, 1947 in Flushing, NY to Charles Anthony and Margaret Caroon Stone, Tish grew up in Kinston, NC. She graduated from Grainger HS, Chowan JC in Murfreesboro, NC and attended Campbell College in NC. She holds an Associates Degree in Home Economics.

After attending college, Tish moved to Arlington, VA, where she met and married her husband of 41 years, LT Scott William White, USN (Ret) on May 13, 1972.

As a Navy wife, Tish traveled with her husband around the world visiting three continents and approximately a dozen countries. While living in Bangkok, Thailand (1973-1976) Tish give birth to two precious sons. In 1977 while her family was stationed in Norfolk, she gave birth to her daughter.

Tish loved and was passionate about children as both a teacher at Young World and later in educational retail at the Teachers and Parents Store (TAPS). In the later years of her life, Tish was a beloved assistant at Elegant Beginnings, where she loved going to work everyday surrounded by her friends.

Tish is survived by her husband Scott, sons Michael and David, daughter Meghan, and two grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Charles Walter Stone.

A brief funeral service will be held at Smith & Williams, Kempsville Chapel in Virginia Beach at 11:00am on March 15th followed by the burial at Princess Anne Memorial Park on Great Neck Rd and a reception TBD. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or Wounded Warrior Project.
