Virginia Beach - Florence Matthews Mullin, 92, went home to be with the Lord on July 6, 2013. She was born in Raleigh, NC on June 4, 1921 to the late Paul and Mildred Matthews. Florence loved to travel and enjoyed music. She cherished her nieces and nephews. Florence will be missed by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Ruth M. Strickland and Mary M. Hart; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Mullin; brothers, Clarence, William, Paul Jr., and Harold Matthews; and sisters, Nancy Jeffreys, Magdalene Haskins, and Doris Matthews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Our Lady of Perpetual Help for their outstanding love, kindness, compassion, and care of our sister during the last few years.
A service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 8, 2013 at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery officiated by Rev. Ron Heath.
