Floyd Edward Taylor

Virgnia Beach - Floyd Edward Taylor, 89, passed away April 4, 2015. He was born on Feb. 25, 1926 in Princess Anne County to the late Moscoe and Hettie Taylor. Mr. Taylor proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He continued his career in civil service, retiring as the Director of Civilian Personnel at NAS Oceana. He was a past member of the Virginia Beach School Board and a 60 year mason at the Princess Anne Lodge. Mr. Taylor was a Deacon and Sunday school teacher at Oak Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed farming his own land.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Madge Huffman Taylor; daughter, Sandra Taylor Wambach; and brother, Walter Taylor.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jane Taylor Kintzi and her husband Harry, Sheryl Taylor Skord and her husband Charles Robert Jr., and Glenn E. Taylor and his wife Susan; son-in-law, Brad Wambach; brother, Paul Wesley Taylor and his wife Margaret; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Oak Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at a reception immediately following the service. The burial was private. You may offer condolences to the family at www.smithandwilliamskempsville.com.
