Gaspar Olivar

Mr. Olivar was born January 6, 1941 to the late Monico Sr. and Magdalena Olivar in Tondo Sto Cristo, Philippines. He came to the U.S. in 1975 to provide a better life for his family. Gaspar was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and a longtime member of the Ocean View Masonic Lodge # 335. He loved cooking and spending time with his family and friends. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Josephine Olivar; five sons: Richard S.D. Olivar; Enrique S.D. Olivar; Gerald S.D. Olivar; Randolf Olivar, Marlon Olivar; three daughters: Cherrylynn O. Gerardo, Ma. Theresa Olivar; Marife Olivar; 19 grandchildren: Vanessa, Robert Jr., Brandon, Ariel, Julian, Marina, Noah, Antonio, Alexis, Ayden, Mark, Erica, Rachel, Ajon, Joan, Eeron, Eira, Tintin, and Boylon. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Etheldreda S.D. Olivar.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 pm, Saturday, May 15, 2010 and Sunday, May 16, 2010 with Masonic Rites and a prayer service to be held on Sunday. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 am Monday, May 17, 2010 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church with burial to follow at Colonial Grove Cemetery.
