Gloria Mirabella Creef

Gloria Mirabella Creef, affectionately known as “Ga Ga”, 96, passed away on February, 16th, 2026 in Chesapeake, Virginia. She was predeceased by her parents, Vincent James Mirabella and Beatrice Mirabella, and her husband, William Lawrence Creef. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Catherine Nichols (husband Timothy), her son Larry Creef (wife Nancy), and her grandson who was her pride and joy, Jonathan William Nichols (wife Samantha).

Gloria grew up in Norfolk, Virginia, graduated from Granby High School, and attended the Norfolk Division of William and Mary for two years before entering the Depaul School of Nursing. She worked as a coronary care unit nurse for Depaul Hospital, before retiring after over 35 years of dedicated service.

Gloria lived life fully and with a heart that seemed to have room for everyone. A true social butterfly, she had a gift for making people feel instantly welcome—whether you were a lifelong friend or someone she had just met. Her sharp wit and perfectly timed wisecracks could light up a room, often catching you off guard and leaving you smiling. Gloria was unapologetically herself, never afraid to say what she was thinking, and that honesty—paired with her warmth—kept everyone around her on their toes in the best possible way.

She loved her friends and family deeply, cherished her pets, and approached life without inhibition. Gloria found joy in community, proudly serving as president of her Bridge Club, staying active with her TOPS Weight Loss group, and participating in her bowling league. She was especially devoted to nursing, a profession that reflected her compassion and desire to care for others. Gloria was truly one of a kind—someone who loved life fiercely and left an indelible mark on all who were lucky enough to know her.

Gloria is now our guardian angel, and she will always be deeply loved and missed. Although she is no longer with us, the memory of her lives on in our hearts forever. A visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 PM on Saturday, March 7th at Smith & Williams Funeral Home in Kempsville, Virginia Beach, Virginia.
