Jessee Garland Moore, III.

A travelin’ man, salt of the earth, country music aficionado, karaoke king, and purveyor of funny videos, Jessee was a man who lived life on his own terms and to the fullest. He was born July 4th, 1974 in Norfolk, Virginia and was a lifelong resident of Virginia Beach. A graduate of Floyd E. Kellam High School, Jessee was a dedicated football player and highly awarded shot-putter who continued to compete in the Commonwealth Games Track and Field tournaments for many years. He attended Old Dominion University and left to pursue a career in vehicle maintenance at Goodyear and AAA. His love of working with his hands found fulfillment in his final job with a building maintenance group.

Jessee is survived by his parents, Joanne (Jodi) M. and Jessee G. Moore, Jr., his sister Tara R. Moscopulos, her husband, David A. Moscopulos, and his most beloved nephew and niece Wyatt St. John Gibson and Zoe Seraiah Moscopulos. He was predeceased by his Granny, Grandma Pat, and his infant nephew, Eli.

Services will be held on August 22, 2016 at 7pm at Smith and Williams Funeral Chapel at 4889 Princess Ann Road Virginia Beach, Virginia. A reception will follow in the chapel’s reception hall. Guests are encouraged to wear their cowboy hats and boots in Jessee’s honor. Casual clothing is otherwise acceptable since he was always a casual kind of guy.

Jessee loved his family. He loved to laugh at silly videos. He was a genuinely funny guy with a huge heart and great sense of humor. An excellent singer, he loved to sing country music and oldies, and was a contestant for a spot on America’s Got Talent, X-Factor, and The Voice. He was and is our bright and shining star. He is now in the presence of our God Most High and his beloved Granny, Grandma, and his nephew Eli. His absence makes our world and yours less bright, but his light now adds to the illumination of heaven, his true home.

Buddy, we are broken without you. We love you so much. But, we know that you have left our presence only for a while. We know that a place has been prepared for you and for us. One day, we will join you in that place of perfection where there is no more suffering or death. Son, we await the complete joy of that reunion!

Though the final year of his life was filled with challenges and great suffering, he never lost hope of healing on this earth. But, it was not to be. Instead, his healing took place in Heaven. His wounded and scarred body is now made new. He is whole again. What joy it will be to see him thus!

At age 12, Jessee was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes. He received both a kidney and pancreas transplant that prolonged his life and gave him several years of normalcy. As a result, he chose to become a Full Circle Donor by donating from elements from his own body after his death to assist others in their pursuit of a normal life.
