Norfolk – Our beloved mother, Joan F. McCrory, known to her many friends affectionately as “Ms. Mac”, returned to our heavenly Father on October 14, 2010. She left behind to her children, the Gift of Life, unconditional Love, countless happy memories and the following quotation “Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow; I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on the ripened grain; I am the gentle autumn’s rain. When you awaken in the morning’s hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft star that shines at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die.” Our mother was preceded in death by her loving and caring husband, Wilson K. “Mac” McCrory.
She is survived by her four children, daughter, Joan F. McCrory of Norfolk, Rob McCrory and wife Linda of Suffolk, Mike McCrory and wife Debbie of Cumming, GA and Jim McCrory and wife Pat of Chesapeake. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
