John Watt Saunders III

He is predeceased by his parents John W. Saunders, Jr., Josephine Williams Saunders and his sister Dinah Jo Saunders.

He is survived by his brother Ronald L. Saunders (Cecile) as well as numerous nephews, nieces and extended family.

John graduated from Granby High School, Mars Hill College and William and Mary (Norfolk Division) now Old Dominion University. John began his career as a teacher and retired as a Principal, with 38 years with the Norfolk Public School system.

His family would like to thank Darrell Arnold for his contributions to John's wellbeing and friendship. Susan Jones for her companionship for many years. BooBoo, Hope and Kendra for their home care of John during his illness. Also, Shirley Campbell and numerous others for their care of John during his extended illness.

John spent many hours sitting on his deck enjoying the Chesapeake Bay with a glass of wine, with family and friends.

A service will be held May 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Talbot Park Baptist Church in Norfolk, with a reception immediately following in the social hall. His family ask that if you attend, please wear a floral or Hawaiian print shirt in his honor.
