Johnnie was born in the State of Missouri, 1953 grew up there until enlisting into the US Air Force, right out of High School, as an Administrative Flag Writer serving at various overseas and US Duty Stations. He served honorably with the United States Air Force for 18 and a half years and was a Vietnam Era Veteran.
He served as an Assistant State Captain with the Patriot Guard and Ride Captain with The Patriot Guard in Hampton Roads.
Johnnie was a United States Postal Service Distribution Center Postal Clerk and served as a 204-B Supervisor at the Norfolk, VA Distribution Center.
Johnnie & Sharon departed Virginia Beach/Hampton Roads and relocated to Ocala, Florida where he was a USPS employed as a Maintenance Technician.
In 2015, Johnnie started experiencing physical ailments that limited his abilities as a “Mover and a Shaker,” and dialed back his outside Patriotic Activities. Johnnie was a force to be reckoned with regards to PGR missions throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Survivors include his mother Joan Masters; his loving wife Sharon George, two daughters Valerie Schneider and husband Christopher, Angie Clexs and husband Christopher, three grandchildren; Benjamin Clexs, Raegan Clexs and Jayden Scheider. Sheila Bailey and a nephew Clayton Bailey.
A celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, October 14, 4pm at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, 4889 Princess Anne Road in Virginia Beach.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, October 15, 3:00pm at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Suffolk, VA.
