Linda Lou Florence

Linda Lou Florence, 76, was called home to be with the Lord and to rejoin her husband, March 20, 2024, after her long battle with dementia. She was born on November 25, 1947, in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Robert and Donna (Hittig) Royer. She later relocated to Virginia Beach, Virginia with her husband Bobby. She was preceded by her loving husband of 23 years, Robert “Bobby” Florence in 2008. Together they brought an amazing son, Robert “Casey” Florence, into the world. Linda was very proud to have been born and raised in Mishawaka graduating from Mishawaka High School. Loving her roots, she loved her Notre Dame football. Linda was an avid reader and crafter. She was always full of laughter. Many of her friends could recognize her laugh anywhere, along with guests, over the 15+ years where she worked cashiering at Target. She always did her best to make the guest feel welcome. Her greatest love, the light of her life was her granddaughter, Emma. She was one proud grandma! Even though Linda suffered with dementia, she never forgot her son or granddaughter through it all. She always remembered what was important. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Robert Casey Florence and his wife Heather; granddaughter, Emma Florence; brothers, Eric and Robert Royer; sisters, Eileen Howell, Sharyn Lackey, and Valorie Clardy; and their respected families. A private family celebration of life will be held to honor her. We requests that in lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to Kempsville Church at 4422 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462 where her family attends. We want to thank all of the family, friends, staff at Birchwood Rehab and Nursing Home, and Hospice staff that took care of our mom through this journey and helped us along the way.
