It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Louis Talia, a cherished husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather, who departed from this world on March 11, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on August 25, 1937, in White Plains, New York, Louis lived a life full of honor, service, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.

Louis was a man of great integrity and bravery, demonstrated early in his life through his service in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 until 1963. His years in the military instilled in him a profound sense of duty, discipline, and camaraderie, values that he carried throughout his life's journey.

Following his honorable discharge, Louis continued his commitment to public service by joining the Yonkers Police Department in 1967. For 21 years, he served with distinction, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the community he vowed to protect and serve.

In 1982, Louis married the love of his life, Marie, and together they built a beautiful life centered around love, family, and faith. Over their 43 years of marriage, Louis and Marie shared countless memories and fostered a nurturing home filled with warmth and laughter.

Louis was a devoted father to his children, Vincent (Christine), Frank (Rolla), and Lauren, always providing guidance, support, and an endless supply of love. The family takes solace in knowing that Louis is now reunited with his beloved son, Louis J Talia, who predeceased him.

Louis's legacy is further carried on by his five grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. To Louis, family was everything, and his presence in their lives will be deeply missed but forever cherished.

The family welcomes you to join them on Friday, March 20th from 6:00 - 8:00 at Smith & Williams Funeral Home located at 4889 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach.

A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate his life will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on March 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM. The church, located at 1396 Lynnhaven Parkway, will be filled with those who were touched by Louis's kindness, strength, and unwavering spirit. A committal service will follow at 3:00 PM in Princess Anne Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Louis's memory to Tunnel 2 Towers, an organization close to his heart, reflecting his lifelong commitment to supporting those who serve and protect.

As we bid farewell to Louis, we remember a man whose life was a testament to service, love, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.
