She was born September 27, 1946, to Jose and Eleuteria Chua in Marikina, Rizal, Philippines. On September 6, 1964, she married the love of her life, Rodolfo "Rudy" Concepcion. Lucy graduated from Commonwealth College and volunteered as an Emergency Medical Technician. She was employed by General Electric, Lillian Vernon, and Department of Motor Vehicles respectively.
Lucy, along with her husband, enjoyed traveling and brought so much joy wherever she went and met no stranger. She loved people in tangible ways by warmly welcoming everyone into her home and treating them like her own. She blessed many with her delicious cooking and homemade baked goods. Her love of family was evident as she enjoyed spending time watching her grandson's sports and all their endeavors. She will truly be missed.
Left to cherish in her memories is her husband of 57 years, her son, Ronnie Concepcion (Christine), grandsons Aidan and Jaxon of Virginia Beach; and daughter Ruby Capps (Richard) and grandsons Austin and Brandon of Currituck, North Carolina. Lucy was predeceased by her brothers Fransisco Chua and Jimmy Chua. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Jose Chua, Pacita Rosales, Mercilita Ong, Felicita Lao, Josel Chua, Joseph Chua, Jessie Chua, James Chua, Jerry Chua, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lucy's memory to the Church of the Ascension, 4853 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
A funeral mass will be held November 11, 2021 at the Church of the Ascension at 12 pm. Reception to follow.
