Lyman James Basnight

Lyman James Basnight "Jim", 79 passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022. He passed away at his home in Currituck, North Carolina as he had wished, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Lyman and Pinkie Basnight. Jim was retired from NNSY and later in life retired from Cross Country Truck Driving with his lovely wife of 61 years Zane. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Zane; his children, James Basnight II and his spouse, Jordan, Joann Brown and her husband, Jerry, and Jean Basnight; his grandchildren, Jessica and her husband, John, Jaymes and his wife, Megan, Catherine, Shiloh and his wife, Arden, Kyle and Kali; his great-grandchildren, Makayla, Mia, Hunter, Cole and Kamryn; and his only surviving sister, Anna Francis Twine. The family will receive visitors at Smith & Williams Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm located at 4889 Princess Anne Road in Virginia Beach. Funeral services will be held at Smith & Williams Funeral Home on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 1:30pm burial will immediately follow the service at Princess Anne Memorial Park and a reception will be held at Smith & Williams Funeral Home immediately following the burial.
