She was born April 9,1951 in Middleboro, Kentucky and resided in Norfolk since 1964 where she spent her life raising her children, planting flowers and working in her garden. Some of her most enjoyable moments were playing cards and attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events.
Mary Clemmer was preceded in death by her mother Sallie Henson, father Paul Parrott, son Steven “Stevie” Rosenbaum, sister Paula Barbour and stepfather Kenneth Henson.
Survivors include her children, Melody Weekly of Virginia Beach, Sallie Rosenbaum of Virginia Beach, Shannon Wilson and husband Brandon of Virginia Beach, Mary Driggers and husband Davione of Norfolk, Maranda Wisdom and husband Thomas of Suffolk; sisters, Diana Macke of Suffolk, Amy Slinker (Robert) of Kentucky and Edna Parker of Chesapeake; grandchildren Candace (Domenic), David, Nicholas (Michelle), Brent, Paige (Nicole), Austin, Alexis, Hailey, Kayla, Donovan, Caleb, Gracie, Willow, Lilly and River; great grandchildren, Cameron, Chelsey, Domenic Jr, David Jr, Alyssa, Ariella, Damien, Daelynn and Demetrius; great great grandchildren, Kai and Eliana.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 29 from 12 to 2pm at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, 4889 Princess Anne Road in Virginia Beach.
A celebration of Mary’s life will follow at 2pm in the funeral home by Chaplain Roger Gauthier. A reception will immediately follow at the funeral home.
