Moana graduated from Miliani High School in 1979 and attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa where she studied English Education. She worked at the State of Hawaii Department of Corrections before she moved to Virginia. She also worked for the Norfolk Sheriff's office and was currently employed at USI Insurance Services, LLC and PAWS Clinic.
Moana loved to read and write and was very passionate about helping others. She had a smile that was contagious and could light up a room full of people. She touched many with her kindness and laughter.
Left to cherish her memory are her closest friends Jenny Scott, Terri Hammaker, Lisa Baker, Christine Myers and Dr. Mike and Monique Wansky. She is also survived by her cousins Donna Norquist, Laura Ruud and countless friends who loved and adored her.
A celebration of Moana's life will be held Saturday April 25 at 1 p.m. at the Smith & Williams Kempsville Chapel. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Cancer Society, your local animal shelter, or SPCA.
