

Virginia Beach - Naomi Craig Walker, 81, passed away on Aug. 24, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was born Aug. 18, 1932 to the late Ben and Lucy Craig in Franklin Co., VA. In June of 1952, Mrs. Walker graduated from Tampa University with a degree in secretarial science. She then worked in administration at the Henry B. Gilpin Co. for eight years. Mrs. Walker left work to become a homemaker, where she devoted her life to her family. She was a member of Kempsville Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher for the six year old class. Above all, Mrs. Walker was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Channing R. Walker; and son, C. Ray Walker II.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Judith C. Haddox and husband Terry; two grandsons, Matthew and Nicholas Haddox; brother, Philip Craig and wife Barbara; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013 at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Princess Anne Memorial Park.
