"I slipped away the other day, and I asked the Lord to comfort you and see you all safely through. I asked for strength for my family so dear and asked the Lord to take their hands and fit them lovingly into his plan and to wipe all their tears away and give them the strength for today."
Randy Terence was born in San Diego, California and was the first of two sons for Mary Frances and Wright Cade, Jr. The Cade family moved away from San Diego when Randy was two years old because his father was in the navy and had gotten orders to Beeville, Texas ...which put Randy and his brother close to their grandparents who lived in Corpus Christi, Texas. When Randy was old enough to attend school in Texas, he attended Our Lady of Victory Catholic School in kindergarten and first grade. When Randy was at this school, his first grade teacher and music teacher saw that he had a "gift" in regards to music and the piano...so when he was in first grade, he began piano lessons (continuing this gift until his first year in high school).
When Randy's father got orders to NAS Oceana in Virginia, Randy attended Holland Elementary School, Princess Anne Junior High, and Green Run High School. Randy was outgoing and enjoyed many activities ~ such as anything to do with water (like swimming, fishing, and crabbing). He enjoyed playing team games~ like baseball, football, and basketball, and tried out in junior high school for the track team. AND SPORTS ~Randy loved the New York Yankees baseball team, and the Dallas Cowboys football team ...every since he learned as a toddler to say "Dallas Cowboys." Also -when Randy was young he loved being an altar boy at the Catholic church at NAS Oceana (especially ringing those bells)...so did his younger brother when he saw his big brother do so.
My son, Randy, was a wonderful son to me and his father, a good brother to his younger brother, a good father to his son, and a good friend.
Our family wishes to express sincere appreciation and deepest gratitude for all of the acts of kindness extended during our time of bereavement.
A funeral mass for Randy will be held Friday, January 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1396 Lynnhaven Pkwy, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23453. A burial will occur at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 6309 E Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, Virginia 23502.
