Rebecca Mullis Grice, 78, of Virginia Beach, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at home on September 11, 2026. Becky was born on July 22, 1948, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to the late Jack and Julia Mullis. She has been a beacon of joy and laughter throughout her life, known for her delightful sense of humor and her ability to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. Her laughter was infectious, and her presence brought light and warmth to all who knew her.
She shared a remarkable 60-year marriage with her devoted husband, Frank Grice, a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Together, they built a family filled with love and cherished memories. Rebecca is the proud mother of two daughters, Sherry Fire, married to Rob, and Jennifer Ramiro, married to Anthony. Her family was her world, and she found immense joy in her four grandchildren: Chelsae Summers, married to Kenny; Guy Fire, married to Emiley; and Dylan and Evan Ramiro. Her heart was further blessed with six great-grandchildren: Kinsley, Colton, Cason, Camree, Rylan, and Baylan, who brought her endless happiness and pride.
Becky was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Julia, and her beloved great-granddaughter, Camree Lauren Fire. She will be lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched, and her memory will continue to bring smiles and laughter to all who knew and loved her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Sara Bell of Amedisys Hospice Care and a special thank you to her caretaker, Carlisha Jackson, who not only provided exceptional care but also became an integral and beloved part of the family.
In honoring Becky’s legacy and her compassionate spirit, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Research Association, located in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan, to support their vital work in research and care.
Becky’s life was a celebration of love, laughter, and family. Her legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched, leaving a trail of cherished memories and a reminder of the beauty of a life well-lived.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday September 15, 2026 5-8 pm at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, 4889 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach with a Graveside service on Wednesday September 16, 2026 10am at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens
