Robert I. Lee, 90 passed away peacefully into the arms of his beloved wife Rose on December 30, 2011. Robert was born September 13, 1921 the son of the late Hugh and Alvarine Lee in Savannah, GA. He was preceded in death by his brother, Hugh.
He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Robert’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends. His sense of humor and outgoing personality brought a smile to everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. Robert will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend and will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Barbara Lee and Carol Kelly; grandchildren, Scott, Amber, Brandon (Stephanie), and Stephen; great-grandchildren, Arianna, Malaya, Jayden, and his beloved cat “Zoe”; sister, Mildred Edwards; and brothers, Earl and James Lee.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:30 pm, Thursday, Jan. 5th at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 pm, Friday, Jan. 6th in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Princess Anne Memorial Park.
