This picture is from my first birthday party.
Tatay, thank you for everything you've done for your family. When I was 13, I moved into my new house and I had my first room all to myself. One of the biggest things I wanted was a desk to study on along with a vanity mirror. Tatay gave me the perfect off white vanity desk from Pier1. I had it for so many years, and it always reminded me of him. Tatay always pushed me to continue on with my schooling. I am currently an LPN, and he always asked me when will I return to school. I started college in summer of 2025, and I finally told him, "Tatay, I'm in school, but I won't be done for a couple years though." Tatay nodded but I knew he was proud that I was pursuing my bachelor's degree. In third grade, I was bullied. I went to Tatay's house crying after I told my dad what had happened in which my dad told Tatay afterwards. Tatay then told me, "Jasmine, don't listen to those boys, those boys are stupid. You are a smart girl." Tatay did not want me to feel belittled by others' words. Tatay always wanted what was best for our family. He wanted what was best for my cousins and I. Tatay loves his family. Tatay valued education. Tatay valued hard work.  One of the last things Tatay had told me weeks prior to his passing was, "I want to see you become a doctor."  
Tatay, I will do my best in school to be the best healthcare provider I can be. You will always guide me in spirit as you always have.
I love you, Tatay. Rest in peace.

i remember tatay was always the cool grandpa, always traveling for work and coming back with goodies from france and stories to tell, he had so many cool momentos from his travels, all the instruments. he would be laying down and listen to me play random keys on his piano as a kid. i wish you could have seen me grow up more, even just for a little bit longer. i love you tatay, rest easy.

What a loss.  He was one of the smartest people.  His smile could light a room.  I cherish the pictures of Ken and him driving a Citroen convertible in France.  Thinking of all the family.

I’m sorry I’ll be out of town for work next week but you will all be in my thoughts.
