Shirley Ann Dodds

Shirley was the beloved wife of the late Robert L. Dodds, with whom she shared 43 wonderful years of marriage before his passing. She was the devoted daughter of the late Earl L. Aydelotte and Margaret Aydelotte.

A dedicated and caring woman, Shirley worked as a school bus driver for the city of Virginia Beach, where she safely transported countless children over her years of service. She was known for her kind heart and warm smile, which endeared her to students and colleagues alike.

Shirley had a passion for quilting, creating beautiful works of art that brought joy to her family and friends. She enjoyed playing Bingo throughout her life and cherished spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Camping and travel were among her favorite pastimes, allowing her to explore and enjoy the beauty of nature. Shirley also had a talent for crafts, often sharing her creations with loved ones.

For 35 years, Shirley resided in Las Vegas, where she made many cherished memories and lifelong friendships. Her warmth and generosity touched everyone she met, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Shirley leaves behind a loving family, including her children: Connie Cicha (Alvey), Judy Dingledine, Richard Garringer (Sonja), Patty Woods (Steven), Stephanie Mallory (George) and Theresa Eiban (Wayne). Her legacy also lives on through her 12 cherished grandchildren and 14 adored great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at A. G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.

Shirley A. Dodds will be remembered for her unwavering love, kindness, and dedication to her family and community. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
