Mrs. Chapman was born in Allentown, PA and grew up mainly in Northern Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents Daniel Joseph Green and Mary Kathryn Green. She graduated from DePaul Nursing School in 1974 and served as a registered nurse for many years specializing in oncology.
Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, CAPT. James H Chapman, Jr., USN, Ret, son James III (Kerri) daughter Elizabeth (Cliff) , son Stephen and four grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated Tuesday, September 1, 10:00 am at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, 4889 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach by Deacon Darrell Wentworth.
Inurnment will be at the U.S. Naval Academy at a future date.
