

Thomas William Renfro, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and proud veteran, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. His passing came just nine days after the loss of his devoted wife of 59 years, Maria Corazon Renfro, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership, most recently celebrating their anniversary on April 5.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Tom lived a life defined by service, dedication, and deep commitment to family. He honorably served in the United States Navy for over 20 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. His service reflected the discipline, integrity, and strength of character he carried throughout his life.
He and Maria shared a passion for creating lasting memories—treasuring time with family, traveling together, and especially looking forward to their cherished annual cruises.
Tom is lovingly remembered by his sons, Mike and Mark; his niece Connie and her husband Bill; his grandchildren Erica, Van, and Jack; and his great grandson Alek.
He passed peacefully on the evening of his wife’s funeral and memorial services – a final testament to their enduring bond.
Visitation will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, May 28, followed by funeral services at 5:00 PM at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel.
Tom will be remembered for his steadfast love, quiet strength, and the legacy of family and service he leaves behind.
