He was born November 11, 1956, in Renton, Washington. He resided in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Timothy grew up in church and was shaped by a strong faith-based background. He graduated from Patrick Henry High School in Roanoke, Virginia, and later graduated from Princeton Choir College. Throughout his life, he carried forward a steady sense of purpose and a willingness to do the work set before him—qualities that marked him in both the everyday and the enduring moments of his life.
Timothy served others through his work as a middle school band director for 8 years, bringing structure and guidance to young lives. In later years, he became an electrician, a path that reflected his practical skill and hard-working nature. He lived 40 years in the Los Angeles area in California before moving back to Virginia Beach, Virginia.
He also found enjoyment in simple pleasures and familiar traditions, especially fishing and NASCAR.
Timothy was predeceased by his father, Rev. Thomas Elton Baird, and his mother, Ann Hughes Baird. He is survived by his sister, Cynthia S. Reno (Wallace) of Virginia Beach,VA; his brother, Adrian B. Baird (Snooki) Glendale, CA; and his niece and nephews, Brian Reno (Elissa), Heather Parker (Carey), Andrew Reno (Amy), and Robert Baird (Jenny). He is also survived by a host of other loving family members and friends.
The family will receive friends at Smith & Williams Funeral Home on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 10am-12pm followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 noon. Interment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, VA on Saturday, May 16, 2026 @ 12:00 noon.
