

Violet A. (Midge) Spagnuolo, 79, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend died Wednesday, February 9, 2011. A native of Norfolk, VA., Midge was a longtime resident of Virginia Beach. She is preceded in death by her husband and best friend Vincent Spagnuolo, Sr., parents, Floyd and Elmira Breeden; two brothers; two sisters; and by two grandchildren, Gerard Ahles, Jr. and Jeffrey Breidert, Jr.
Left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses: Cindy Hurr and husband George, Toni Redifer and husband Allan; Vinny Spagnuolo, Jr. and wife Heidi; and Joe Spagnuolo and wife Robin; 12 grandchildren: Nick Ahles (Emily), Doug Ahles (Megan), Gina Ahles, Josh Breidert (Nina), Elizabeth Anderson (Jason), Sarah Crispin (Jamie), Erika Tschirhart (Nick), Andrew Redifer, Maggie Redifer, Rachel Spagnuolo, Rebecca Redifer, and Lauren Spagnuolo; 11 great-grandchildren: Damien Anderson, Anthony Crispin, Kaleb Breidert, Taylor Smith, Aiden Anderson, Ryleigh Ahles, Reese Ahles, Peyton Tschirhart, Noah Breidert, Brady Ahles, Sophia Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.
A major love in Midge’s life was golfing. She was active in the Kempsville Greens Women’s Golf Association; and was an avid Bingo Player.
She was a charter member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and participated in many church activities.
A memorial celebration of Midge’s life will take place at 11:00 am; Saturday, February 12, 2011 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 5345 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23462. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Midge lived a life loving her family and friends, especially her “Angels”. Her everlasting faith and endless support were the inspiration that encouraged her family. She may have been small in size but her love was larger than life.
