I loved the weeks in the summer I would spend with Alice and Kenneth in Visalia as a child. Alice taught me so much of the farming lifestyle: from canning fruit, collecting warm eggs, eating supper at noon, taking a rest in the afternoon, sharing her travels and bowling. I remember our meaningful talks and quiet walks in the vast farmland called home. I was a city child and this experience has always remained close to my heart. Rest in peace, Alice.
