Anne Mae Fagundes

On October 18th, 2022 Anne Mae Fagundes passed away surrounded by her family at the age of 97. She was married to her beloved husband Frank for 72 years. Anne was born in Tipton, CA on April 11th, 1925 to Antonio Lawrence and Mary Leonardo and lived most of her life in Tulare, the community she loved. Anne spent her young adult life on the family dairy ranch west of town on Ave 256. She attended Sundale Elementary School and Tulare Union High School.

Anne met her husband to be, Frank Fagundes at a dance at the T.D.E.S. lodge and they began their life journey together on June 26, 1941. They were blessed with the birth of a daughter, Gloria. Anne worked at Knapp Furniture Store as a bookkeeper for many years. She was an incredible seamstress and enjoyed volunteering in Gloria’s classroom as Room Mother. In retirement, Anne and Frank were very active at Senior Dances and loved to visit with her many friends at social gatherings. Anne was a long standing member of the Cabrillo Civic Club, St. Rita's Altar Society, and was active with the St. Rita’s carnival. Anne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved cooking, sewing, and playing cards with her family. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Anne is survived by her daughter Gloria Sanders of Clovis, CA, grandson Darren Sanders of Fresno, CA, granddaughters Carla Zacharzuk and husband Paul of Menifee, CA, Jennifer DiCicco and husband Anthony of Mayfield Hts., Ohio, Cyndy Favilla of Clovis, CA, seven great grandchildren, and her sister in law Magdalene Mederios of Visalia, and many nieces and nephews. The Visitation will be held at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 West Goshen Ave Visalia, CA on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 3:00PM - 6:00 PM with a Rosary following at 6:00 PM. Mass and Funeral services with be Friday, November 4th, 2022 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church, 954 South “O” Street, Tulare, CA at 10:00 AM.
