Barbara Ann Keeline, 87, passed away on September 14, 2026. Born on July 29, 1939, in Elmhurst, Illinois, Barbara was raised in a Catholic household and attended Parochial School. She later went to high school in West Covina, where she met George while on a double date with her sister—an early moment that would become part of the story of a life built on steady devotion and enduring family love.
In the 1960s, Barbara worked for Avon and was also Miss Avon. After three years in Texas, George’s job transferred him to Visalia, California, where Barbara began working at Gottschalks. Many knew her fondness for shopping, and even after she stopped working there, she certainly didn’t stop enjoying the store. Barbara later dedicated 37 years of service at COS in Student Services, a long and faithful career marked by the same gentle care, patience, and understanding that shaped so much of her life.
Barbara and George married in 1962 and raised two sons, Michael and Ryan. Barbara and George were deeply involved in their boys’ sports, offering the kind of consistent presence that speaks quietly, but powerfully, of a kind heart and unwavering support.
Together, Barbara and George enjoyed camping, water skiing, and snow skiing. They also loved traveling to Catalina Island to visit their son and his family, returning again and again to the people and places that mattered most.
Barbara especially loved the holidays and had a gift for making them feel meaningful and warm. Thanksgiving and Easter were filled with laughter and joy, but Christmas was her favorite. She was always a gracious hostess, creating celebrations that reflected her thoughtful spirit and her deep care for those gathered around her table.
Barbara’s words, simple and sincere, remain close to the hearts of those who loved her: “Keep it simple.” And, “Love you more.”
Barbara will be remembered by her husband George; her sons Michael (wife Kristin) and Ryan (wife Leah); and her grandchildren, Taylor, Lauren, Kinley, Saylor, and Waylon.
