

Billy was born in Tulare, California on March 13, 1935 to Ben and Concha Valdez. He was raised and educated in Visalia, attending Visalia Union High School. Billy entered the United States Navy, serving as a Private E2, Company H, 185th Infantry. He went on to serve in the National Guard of California and as a Reserve of the United States Army, receiving his honorable discharge on June 28, 1954. Billy furthered his education, receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Technology. He worked for over 30 years as Custodian at College of Sequoias in Visalia, retiring in 2011. Billy was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Visalia. He was an avid reader and enjoyed tinkering with mechanical things, biking and visiting with people. He especially enjoyed traveling to the Holy Land. Billy was a very humorous man and could make a joke out of just about anything.
Billy is survived by his cousin, Roberto Reyes Valdez of Visalia.
Rosary will be prayed at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 608 N. Church Street in Visalia on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 9 a.m. Interment will follow at Visalia Public Cemetery, 1300 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia.
