Caroline Lena Bethany of Visalia, California went to be with her Lord on December 21, 2020 in Visalia, California. She was 86. She was born on July 3, 1934 in Tulare, California to Louis William Michalk of Thorndale, Texas and Emma Augusta Hagedorn of Beamer, Nebraska.
Caroline lived in Visalia, California her entire life. She attended East Lynne Grammar School and graduated from Visalia High School.
Caroline married her high school sweetheart, Henry Farrell Bethany. They were married for 69 years and together raised their five children. After raising her children, she returned to school, earning her Nursing Degree from College of the Sequoias Nursing Program. She was Registered Nurse for 23 years, working at Tulare District Hospital and Kaweah Delta Dialysis.
When she was young, she was a member of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls and 4-H.
Caroline and Henry attended Visalia First Assembly of God where she was a member until her passing. They raised their children in the church and were faithful in imparting the Truth of God to them.
She was an avid gardener and a talented artist. Her greatest joy was sharing with her friends and family. You never left Caroline’s home empty handed or without a prayer for safe travels.
Caroline is survived by her loving husband, Henry Bethany of Visalia, CA; her daughter Kathy Bethany Plett (John Plett) of Denair, CA; her son Floyd Bethany of Visalia, CA; her daughter Debby Bethany Kumpe (Randy Kumpe) of Visalia, CA and her son Glendon Bethany (Dori Bethany) of Tehachapi, CA and her daughter Diana Bethany Niehenke (David Niehenke) of Tulum Mexico; 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchidlren.
Visitation will held on Friday, December 8, 2020 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2020 at 10:30 am at Visalia Public Cemetery District, 1300 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia.
