

Cecil was born in Parkland, Oklahoma on December 15, 1932 to Curtis and Nola Eppler. When he was a small child his family moved to Firebaugh, California where he was raised and educated, graduating from Dos Palos High School in 1951. He entered the United States Air Force that same year and served his country until 1961 when he received an honorable discharge. While serving, he received the Korean Service Medal, United Nation Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal worked on the U2 Project. In 1959 he married Lorenda Darlene Drake in San Bernardino, California and they made their home in Cheyenne, Wyoming after being transferred by the military. They moved to Fresno, CA. Claremont, CA, and then to Visalia in 1973 to make their home and raise their family. Cecil worked for over 30 years in Steel Sales, retiring in 1997. He attended Freewill Baptist Church of Farmersville. His hobbies included traveling, flying model airplanes and most recently model trains. He most enjoyed family and friends and making people laugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Nola, his brother Charles Eppler and sister Joann McDowell.
Cecil leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Darlene, his children, Mark Eppler and wife Stephanie of Visalia and Julie Quesinberry and husband Bryan of Modesto, CA; his siblings John Eppler of Redding, CA, William Eppler of Firebaugh, CA, Nola Hunt of Medford, OR and Gary Allen of Fresno, CA; four grandchildren, Nicholas Eppler, Megan Bierwirth and husband Matt, Alexandra Quesinberry, and Elizabeth Quesinberry.
Visitation will be held on Monday September 12 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Miller Memorial Chapel. Services will be held on Wednesday September 14th at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine.
