Daniel Gregory Hernandez Jr

Daniel Gregory Hernandez Jr. went home to be with the Lord July,23 2026. He is survived by his only child, a daughter, Ashleigh Jade Findlay of Lompoc, Ca. and a grandson Dillan Findlay also of Lompoc. In addition, he is survived by two sisters, Lucy Choate of Coolidge, AZ. and Danette G. Hernandez of MD. He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel G. Hernandez Sr. and Barbara Jean Hernandez both from Eloy, AZ. Sisters:Mary Jane Gonzales, Brenda Lea Hernandez, and Glinda Sue Hutcheson. Danny was born into a big family and also has many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and even great great nieces and nephews who already miss his presence dearly.

Danny, the youngest of six children, and the only boy, was born October 8th 1965. He spent his early childhood in Eloy, Az., riding bikes with friends, playing baseball, and exploring the desert surrounding Eloy. Danny was a loyal friend, thoughtful, devoted to his family, and extremely hardworking. He endeared himself to everyone who knew him with his honesty, his humor, and his kindness to others. Danny loved to fish and hunt doing both in Alaska was one of the highlights of his life. He also possessed a beautifully smooth, silky and melodic voice. He loved music and delighted many with a voice to rival Elvis himself!

At the tender age of 15 he set out into the world and moved to California. It’s here that he began a long career as an agricultural laborer. Danny worked with crops like grapes, cotton, and a lot of potatoes! He continued to reside in and around the Bakersfield area for a couple decades but he always made time to keep in touch with family at home, visiting several times a year eventually moving back to Eloy to care for his aging parents. It was during this time that he studied hard and became a corrections officer. He lived, worked and cared for his mom and dad until his dad passed away and Danny then returned to California to help his sister Brenda care for their mother. After his mom passed away he stayed in California to help his niece care for his sister Brenda. Danny stayed in California until his death.

This short synopsis doesn’t really do the life of this wonderful man justice, there will never be another Daniel G. Hernandez Jr.. Ever. Danny would give you the shirt off his back and the last dollar in his bank account. He was a wise, kind, simple man that will live forever in our hearts and minds. A handsome, gregarious soul with a silky smooth voice who loved The Lord

Jesus Christ, his friends and his family. Although Danny is gone he will never be forgotten. His love and laughter lives on in the lives he touched.
