

Dorothy Bettencourt Halstead was born on December 10, 1924 in Goshen, California. She was full of life, a hard worker; raised two children on her own since 1968 and successfully ran the Halstead farm. When she was younger she owned and operated, with her two sisters, The Coney Island Restaurant, in San Jose. When she moved back to the Goshen area she met and then married.

Her two sons’; Donald Halstead Jr. and David Halstead and wife Stefanie survive her. She is also survived by three loving grandchildren; David Halstead II, Elizabeth Halstead and Tiffany Halstead.
Dorothy was also involved in her community being apart of many service groups such as; Catholic Daughters, UPPEC, SPRSI and the PPAV Hall. Dorothy passed away on April 5, 2013.
Visitation will be held at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 from 3 – 6 p.m. with Recitation of Rosary beginning at 6 p.m., also at the chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Visalia. Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Visalia Cemetery.
